The Great Debate: pH & Alphahydroxy
Around and around it goes - and where does it stop? You hear an expert saying one and then you read another article that says the opposite is true. Which information source is accurate? Well, the following "expert" has found the answer.
Alpha Hydroxy Products
Noted Legend in the Industry, Eva Friederichs is quoted as saying,
"By using alphahydroxy acids over the past ten years, the following facts were confirmed through actual usage of our Glyco-A-Gel."
Fact #1: AHAs (alphahydroxy acids) are more effective when they are formulated into an oil-free base. In several studies, it was found that AHAs in oil-free suspensions penetrated much farther into the viable epidermis and dermis. This, in turn, creates a thinner but more compact and flexible epidermis.
Fact #2: pH dictates the true concentration of free acid, not the percentage of AHAs used.
Fact #3: For home-use products, a formula of 10% AHA with a pH of 3.5 in gel base is ideal. This type of formulation creates the fastest stimulation of epidermal desquamation (exfoliation) and turn over of cells.
Fact #4: Used by themselves, AHAs are drying, so it is essential to use a deeply penetrating humectant product like Hy-Drate (rich in hyaluronic acid) in conjunction with these acids.
Because of this information, our Glyco-A-Gel has been revised twice. Today, it remains the premier anti-aging product on the market. When Glyco-A-Gel is used with its companion product Hy-Drate, the result is smoother textured, healthier and younger looking skin.
With Eva's Skin Care, you will have confidence that the highest quality ingredients are used. Thus the result Beautiful Skin.
